May 1st, 2002 Pat, Rick and Jill stood at the Mexico/US boarder outside of San Diego, California.  This would mark the start of A Walk to Remember.  Over the next five months, they would walk the entire length of the Pacific Crest Trail.  The trail would lead them through the Southern California desert, through the Sierra Nevada Mountains, over the hills around Mount Shasta, through the volcanoes of Oregon, over the Cascade Mountains in Washington and into Manning Park in British Columbia, Canada.
