Introduction to Muscle Imbalance Testing and Movement Pattern Assessment

Get ahead with this practical 20-step system for identifying dysfunctional movement patterns and testing for muscle imbalances that are commonly present in the shoulder complex, pelvis, hip complex, knee and ankle.

- Gain an understanding of the inter-relationship that exists between the

upper and lower chains of the body, how certain patterns of posturing

can create muscular imbalances (coupled dominance and weakness) and

how insufficient or dysfunctional muscle recruitment strategies can create

systematic deficiency in a movement pattern

- Practice comprehensive assessment techniques to identify dysfunctional

movement patterns and recruitment deficiencies and learn to formulate a

corrective exercise plan with measurable results

Discover how using a Functional Fitness Assessment can enhance your clients’ motor performance and prevent them from injury and recurrent pain!

What you will learn in this course:

During this 1-day workshop, the following topics are presented in lecture and practical format:

- Functional and Gross Anatomy
- Posture & Movement Pattern Assessment
- Muscle Imbalance Testing

Participants will gain an understanding of the inter-relationship that exists between the upper and lower chains of the body, how certain patterns of posturing can create muscular imbalances (coupled dominance and weakness) and how insufficient muscle recruitment can create systematic deficiency in a movement pattern

Participants will learn comprehensive assessment techniques to test for the identification of dysfunctional movement patterns and strength deficiencies.  Training strategies to effectively address common imbalance patterns will be discussed.
