Rick Kaselj

c/o Healing Through Movement

On average it takes 7 business days to receive mail.  Please mail payment at a minimum of 10 business days prior to the course(s) you are registering for.

To decrease the risk of mail theft, do not just mail a cheque in an envelope.  In the envelope, three way fold two 8.5 x 11 pieces of paper and place the cheque inside the fold.  This will make if difficult for anyone to see that a cheque is inside and demonstrate that the envelope just has a letter enclosed.

Do not mail cash.

If you would like to pay by credit card, visit www.FitnessRehabEducation.com

Certificate of attendance and receipts will be distributed at the end of the course.

Please note, most of my communication is done via e-mail.  I order to prevent having e-mails related to the course blocked or trashed, add courses@HealingThroughMovement.com, news@HealingThroughMovement.com and rkaselj@HealingThroughMovement.com to your contact list.

I tried to pay on-line but my card was declined?

Here are a few reasons why you order was declined:

-          The card number you entered was not correct.

-          The address entered does not match the address of where the credit card statement is mailed.

-          The name on the credit card needs to be entered as it appears on the card.

-          If your last name has changed, enter the last name that appears on your credit card statement.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS (CEC)

Douglas College Map

Douglas College can be very confusing. I would recommend printing out a campus map if you are not familiar with Douglas College.  For a full map of Douglas College - New Westminster Campus visit: http://www.douglas.bc.ca/about/campuses/maps/index.html  Then select the level the room is on.  If the room number starts with a 1, then it is level 1.  If the room number starts with a 2, than it is level 2.

Location of Douglas College

Taking Transit to Douglas College

Take the Skytrain or a bus to New Westminster Station. Exit onto 8th Street. Turn left and walk a block and a half up the (steep) hill to the College on the right side of the street (cross at the intersection). You will enter the College on the 1st or 2nd level.

Contact BC Transit at 604.521.0400, or visit their website at www.translink.bc.ca for more details.

Brief Driving Directions:

  • Driving from the West:

Exit Highway #1 at exit 33 onto Canada Way in Burnaby. Proceed along Canada Way and it will turn into 8th Street in New Westminster. After crossing Royal Avenue, the College will be on the left. Turn left as indicated by signage for underground pay parking.

  • Driving from the South:

Cross the Alex Fraser Bridge and follow Highway #91 across the Queensborough Bridge. Take the Stewardson Way exit. Proceed and the road will turn into Columbia. At the intersection with 8th Street, turn left up the hill on 8th, then right very soon for parking.

  • Driving from the East:

On the Lougheed Highway, just past the Superstore, turn left onto Brunette Avenue. Proceed along Brunette, and just past the old Labatt's building, at the intersection with North Road, turn left onto Columbia. At the intersection with 8th Street, turn right up the hill on 8th, then right very soon for parking.

  • Taking the Skytrain:

Take the Skytrain or a bus to New Westminster Station. Exit onto 8th Street. Turn left and walk a block and a half up the (steep) hill to the College on the right side of the street (cross at the intersection). You will enter the College on the 1st or 2nd level.

Entrance on Sundays

On Sundays, Douglas College - New Westminster campus is closed. Participants need to enter the building through the 7th street entrance near Security Kiosk.  This means all the doors to the college are locked except the 7th street entrance.  The entrance is located at 7th Street and Agnes Street.  Douglas College is very confusing.  Please print out a street map and campus map to help make things easier on the day of the course.

Difficulties Finding the Room

Go to Security Kiosk at the 7th Street Entrance and ask them for directions.  If you have forgotten the room number that the course is in, ask them which room the “Exercise Rehabilitation” course is in.  They should have it on their room booking form.

Parking

There is pay parking under the College and it is quite reasonable.  The parking at Douglas College is cash only and closes at 7 pm on Saturdays.  There is meter parking on the streets, but it is more expensive and you have to keep going out to feed the meter. New Westminster has a by-law that all streets without meters are two hour parking only, even if not marked.

On Sundays the Douglas College parkade is usually closed.  Sometimes they leave the arms up for the day depending on what is going on in the college.  The parking is free on the streets around the college on Sundays.

Eating Options:

On Saturdays the cafeteria is open at Douglas College.  Across the street on 8th street is a Subway restaurant that is open on Saturday and Sunday.  If you walk to Columbia Street, there are more eating options.  Please remember to bring water and snacks to keep your energy up during the course.
